The Thin Negative is the work of photographer and writer, Glenn Harper. Since he and I are one and the same, I’ll continue this in the first person. I’d like to thank you for taking the time to look at my website.
Originally from England, I now live in Vernon, France, with my French wife and two Birman cats. Every summer, Madame H. and I like to mingle with tourists and drink tea at Giverny, just the other side of the Seine. Sometimes we go crazy and drive to Rouen or Versailles for lunch. On my own time, I’m a keen cyclist.
Photography has been a constant passion of mine since I was in my late 20s, though I first caught the bug when I was 11 years old. That was 1978, when I somehow acquired a Kodak Ektra 22 camera. I don’t expect you to know what that is or was, but I thought it looked pretty cool with its slim design and double agent flip-out handle.
My credentials as a photographer are uncomplicated: I’ve been published many times worldwide. In the early 2000s, I wrote articles for British photography magazines, appearing in titles such as “Amateur Photographer” and “Travel Photography”. My pictures have ended up in most UK gardening journals, as I was a garden photographer for a time.
I still license my photos through picture libraries and, as a stock photographer, shoot many different subjects. Be sure to check back for new work and forthcoming blog entries loaded with my latest photo offerings and digital editing tips.
